Prizes and payouts

The payout shares for SNG6 and CUP36, worked through with real numbers, plus the entry fee, refunds, free rolls and what an entry costs on average.

on this page

A hood game pays by finishing place, in fixed shares of a prize pool that is settled when registration closes. This page gives the shares and then works two events through with real numbers.

Players who lose at a round-1 table in a CUP36 receive nothing.

The entry fee

Entry is the buy-in plus a 10% fee, both paid from your stash. The fee is separate and is not part of the prize pool. If you unregister while registration is open, or the event is cancelled, you get the buy-in and the fee back in full.

Two worked examples

Both use a 10 USDG buy-in, so the fee is 1.00 USDG and each entrant pays 11.00 in total. The buy-in is an example, not a scheduled event.

SNG6. Six entrants.

USDG
Prize pool (6 x 10.00)60.00
1st place (70%)42.00
2nd place (30%)18.00
Fees collected (6 x 1.00), outside the pool6.00

CUP36. 36 entrants.

USDG
Prize pool (36 x 10.00)360.00
1st place (45%)162.00
2nd place (25%)90.00
3rd place (14%)50.40
4th place (8%)28.80
5th place (5%)18.00
6th place (3%)10.80
Fees collected (36 x 1.00), outside the pool36.00

The six prizes add up to 360.00, the whole pool.

What an entry costs on average

If every player clicks once, each entrant has the same chances, so the average prize is the pool divided by the number of entrants: 60.00 / 6 = 10.00 in an SNG6 and 360.00 / 36 = 10.00 in a CUP36. You pay 11.00 to enter, so on average you end up 1.00 behind. That is the 10% fee, and nothing else is taken. This is an average over many events. Any single event pays you either a prize or nothing.

Free rolls

A free roll has no entry fee and no buy-in. Its prize pool is paid for from the tournaments share of fees, which is 20% of what the fee splitter receives, and it is open to holders only. The payout shares are the same as the format it copies.

When you are paid

Prizes land in your stash automatically when you finish in the money. There is no claim step. From the stash you can cash out as usual: Your stash and cashing out.

No promise

Prizes are prizes, not income. Do not enter an event with money you need or to win back a loss.
