terms
the rules of the house.
Plain-language terms for playing rhr. The short version: you must be 18 or older, the contracts are unaudited, you can lose everything you put in, and it is all a cartoon.
What this is
rhr (russian hood roulette) is an independent, cartoon-themed game of chance. Six hooded players sit at a table, one chamber holds a bullet, and the game decides who gets hit. You can play it two ways:
- Demo mode. Play-money chips against bots. No wallet, no deposit, and nothing of value is won or lost.
- Live mode. Real USDG on Robinhood Chain. Real money is at risk.
rhr is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Robinhood Markets, Inc. or any of its affiliates. "Robinhood Chain" is named only to say where the contracts run.
Who can play
- You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher.
- It must be legal where you are. Online wagering is restricted or banned in many places. You are responsible for knowing the law where you live and for following it. By entering the site you confirm that online wagering is legal where you live.
- Some places are blocked. We block a list of countries. The block goes by where your connection appears to come from, so it is a best-effort filter and not a promise that nobody slips through. Do not try to get around it. Playing from a place where it is not allowed breaks these terms.
The first visit asks you to confirm your age and that you are not in a restricted place. That confirmation is stored on your device only.
Cartoon violence
The game is themed around a cartoon revolver, and everything on screen is a cartoon. Hoods always stay on, there is no blood, and nobody is hurt. A "bang" ends a round with a stamp and a spray of cash. No firearms were harmed.
The theme is not an endorsement of violence or self-harm. Real firearms are not a game, and real Russian roulette kills people. If that subject is hard for you, do not play. The responsible play page has help links.
Unaudited contracts and your risk
The smart contracts behind rhr have not been audited by an independent security firm. They are small and heavily tested on purpose, but tests are not an audit.
- A bug, an exploit, a chain outage, a wallet mistake or a website error could cost you everything you have deposited.
- Nothing here is insured and nothing is guaranteed.
- Only deposit what you can afford to lose.
Your money, custody and exit
In live mode your deposited USDG sits in a vault contract on-chain, not in a bank and not with a person. The game server keeps your running balance between games and settles net results to the contract in batches that a settler key signs.
- Withdrawing. You ask the server for a signed withdrawal and submit it to the contract. Small withdrawals pay out straight away. Large withdrawals are queued behind a delay, and a guardian can cancel a queued withdrawal if something looks wrong.
- If the server stops signing. The contract has an escape hatch. Request a forced withdrawal, wait 24 hours, then execute it within the next 3 days, after which the request expires and you can request again. It pays the lowest balance you had since the request, never more than you hold, so winnings credited after the request stay in the vault. Pausing the contracts does not block it.
- Who can touch your balance. By design the owner and the guardian cannot take player funds, and the settler can only post results that the contract's checks allow. That is the design, and it is unaudited (see above).
- Aborted games. If the server aborts a game you get your stake back, and aborted games are never raked.
Deposits are on-chain transactions that anyone can make. Your limits and exclusions control whether the server seats you. They never lock your money, and you can always ask to withdraw what is yours.
Fairness and what you have to trust
Every game uses commit and reveal. Before anyone joins, the server commits to a secret seed by publishing its SHA-256 hash. Players add their own random seeds. After the game the server reveals its seed, and anyone can re-derive the result in the verifier.
This is what you still have to trust:
- The commitment is shown to you by the server. It is not stored on-chain. Your browser keeps the commitment it saw before the game and checks the reveal against that.
- The server can abort a game. You are refunded when that happens.
- A collusion between the server operator and another player is outside what the verifier can prove.
- There are no house bots at real-money tables. Bots only appear in demo mode.
USDG and stablecoin risk
USDG is a stablecoin issued by a third party, not by us. Its issuer can freeze addresses, and any stablecoin can lose its peg. If USDG is frozen or loses value, your balance is affected and we cannot fix that. We do not control the token.
$RHR, hoods and staking
- $RHR and the hood NFTs are for use in the game: perks, rakeback boosts and staking. Nothing here promises a return, a price or a market, and their value can fall to zero.
- The staking and NFT contracts are unaudited too.
- Perks can change. The docs describe the current ones. Owning a hood gives you those perks, not ownership of rhr.
- Check the address. The only $RHR contract address we publish is the one on the home page. If none is shown, $RHR is not launched yet, and anything calling itself $RHR is not ours.
Fair play
Do not use bots or scripts to play, collude with other players, exploit bugs (report them instead), or run several accounts to farm rewards. Keep chat civil.
Where the law allows we may void affected games and stop seating an account that breaks these rules. We will not hold back money that is yours, except where the law requires it.
Limits and self-exclusion
You can set daily and weekly loss limits, take a cool-off or exclude yourself from your profile page. The server enforces them when you sit down. The details, and what they do not do, are on the responsible play page.
No guarantees
rhr is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from using it, including bugs, downtime, chain or wallet problems and the behaviour of third-party tokens.
Nothing on this site is financial, legal or tax advice. You are responsible for your own taxes.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the project changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
These terms are a draft and have not had a legal review yet.
No contact address is published yet. Until there is one, treat this site as a preview: there is nobody to answer a complaint, so do not put in money you would need help getting back.
